Curriculum

EKU’s Online cyber and security management certificate offers a real-world focus and practical skill building. Through the guidance of nationally recognized safety experts from nearly every corner of the industry, you can build the foundation you need to lead and discover new ways to keep workers safe, and design and implement corrective safety measures.

Issues in Security Management – SSE 827
Survey of salient issues and concerns confronting security managers. Examines the application and contribution of various management concepts and philosophies to asset protection issues such as information security, personnel protection, threat analysis, technological adaptation and resource allocation. 

Infrastructure Protection and Risk Analysis – HLS 810
Foundations for providing security and resilience to the nation’s critical infrastructure with an emphasis on risk management.

Security Intelligence – HLS 820
Principles of security intelligence and its application to private sector security, risk and resilience efforts as well as operational models to safeguard physical, cyber and human assets and to enable informed decision-making.

Foundations in Cybersecurity Management – HLS 850
Identification and application of cybersecurity management principles within private sector organizations as well as the identification, analysis and application of national cybersecurity policies, initiatives and frameworks. Concentration on prevention, response and recovery of cyberattacks from a management perspective.

  • Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning

Special Tuition for Active Duty* Military
Eastern Kentucky University offers reduced tuition expenses to $258 per credit hour for undergraduate and $335 per credit hour for graduate courses to all service members currently serving on active duty.

*Active duty is defined as on federal orders for 180 days or more.
