Curriculum

Rooted in both theory and practical applications, our accredited online program blends academic and professional preparation through course topics such as human resource management, management science, organization theory, and organization behavior.

Degree Requirements

A minimum of 120 credits are required to graduate with a bachelor degree, including 42 upper-division credits.

Transfer Credits

Students may transfer up to 90 hours of credit from accredited institutions. Please note that a minimum of 30 credit hours in this degree program must be completed at Eastern Kentucky University.

MGT 320 – Human Resource Management (3)
Survey of principles and practices in the areas of human resource planning, job analysis, recruitment, selection, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation, labor relations, safety and health, equal employment opportunity, and personnel research.

BUS 303 – Essentials of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management (3)
This course provides a survey of the principles and practices involved in leading and managing people in organizations. Topics include management, leadership, motivation, conflict management, organizational culture, teams, and ethics. Human Resource topics include onboarding, training, development, staffing, performance management, and compensation.

MGT 400 – Organization Theory (3)
Principles of organization design as they relate to goals and strategy formulation, environmental conditions, technology, job design, control systems, and decision making.

MGT 480 – Organization Behavior (3)
Determinants and consequences of behavior in business organizations are analyzed in the contemporary language of administrative social systems and models. Interdependence of economic, social, and behavioral factors is emphasized.
