EKU’s 100% online certificate in veterans’ studies is a comprehensive credential examining the identities, cultures, and experiences of members of the U.S. Armed Forces. The discipline was founded upon the belief that military veterans have cultures of their own, shaped by the shared experiences of military training and indoctrination, peacetime and wartime service, and reintegration into civilian life. Graduates are prepared to better understand representations of veterans, world events impacting the military experience, as well as the psychological and sociological forces that influence veterans’ lives before, during, and after military service.
The veterans studies certificate complements any field of study and is ideal for students looking to expand their knowledge of veterans beyond a single disciplinary perspective.
EKU Online offers veterans and active-duty military students an unparalleled online learning experience that provides accessibility, convenience, and flexibility.
Learn MoreEKU’s curriculum provides veterans and non-veteran students a foundation of understanding regarding military structure, culture, combat, and the psychological and physiological changes resulting from military service. The program prepares students to improve services for, and interactions with veterans.
