Page Caudill is a student in Eastern Kentucky University’s Master of Arts in Education – Middle Grades program. Paige is a teacher for the Johnson County Board of Education and is completing her MAED online. She recently shared her thoughts about her EKU Online experience.
How has earning this degree changed or aided your career?
By earning this degree, I will achieve my second master’s degree and therefore my Rank 1 as an educator. I will also be able to expand my career options through getting a gifted education endorsement.
What motivated you to get this degree?
My family! I want to do everything I can to help my husband support our two children and provide things for them.
What was your favorite part or the highlight of your time as an EKU Online student?
I love working with the professors at EKU! I graduated with my undergraduate degree in 2013 and I had such a wonderful in person experience, I wanted to try the online degree option too. It has been so great working with the professors because they realize that we are all working and taking care of families while completing this degree. I love that everything I do I feel like I can really use it to better myself in my career rather than just doing “busy work.”
How did the EKU Online faculty aid in your success?
They have been super responsive when I have needed to reach out with questions and have worked hard to help me resolve any issues I had. For example, I was having an issue with my schedule, and it was super easy to get it resolved!
What did you find surprising about the program?
How flexible the program is. As students, we are held to high standards without feeling stressed out if life happens. Being a full-time teacher and mom of two, I really appreciate the ability to have some grace when life just gets to be too much!
What advice would you give to someone who is looking to become an EKU Online student?
I would highly recommend the education program through EKU Online! This has been a great experience!
