“EKU offered the MPA program completely online. This was my only opportunity to complete the program, as a working mother,” said EKU Online MPA program graduate Julie Curry.
She needed a master’s degree program in a format that worked for her busy family life. “We are balancing two jobs, two kids, gymnastics, soccer and everything else that goes with it. My schedule would not allow me to go to campus and take classes,” she said.
She also wanted a respected, accredited program. “The fact that EKU is one of the top online colleges in the country was also a top factor in my decision,” said Julie.
The EKU Online MPA program faculty and staff understood the challenges she faced as an adult student.
“So many online students were also juggling work and family life,” she remembered. “It can seem at times an impossible feat to complete a graduate degree as well. But EKU has encouraging faculty, supportive advisors, and so many resources that it can be done.”
Now that she has graduated, she’s glad she made the decision to invest in herself and in her family’s future. “Getting my MPA has taught me so much about the public administration field, which I can apply in my current job. It has also set me up for future endeavors by opening up new doors,” she said.
She can’t imagine choosing another university. “They truly want you to succeed at EKU, and will do everything they can to make sure it happens!” said Julie.
