Angela Short graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Eastern Kentucky University. She works as a Judicial Support Specialist for the Kentucky Court of Justice. She completed her degree online and recently shared her thoughts about her EKU Online experience.
How has earning this degree changed or aided your career?
Earning this degree is what got me the job that I am in. I love working with the courts and feel like I am making a difference in my community. I also felt more prepared to take on this job due to my education.
What motivated you to get this degree?
I had been waiting for years to finish my degree. I only needed one more year but couldn’t find the time to be able to go to school in a traditional setting. Finding an online option made it possible for me to finally get my degree.
What was your favorite part or the highlight of your time as an EKU Online student?
The sense of accomplishment and showing my son that no matter how long it’s been, it’s never too late to finish what you’ve started and to invest in yourself.
How did the EKU Online faculty aid in your success?
They were always able to be reached via email and responded quickly.
What did you find surprising about the program?
Just how user friendly it was. I was expecting it to be much more difficult to navigate.
What advice would you give to someone who is looking to become an EKU Online student?
Go for it! Invest in yourself and your family!
Any additional thoughts or comments?
So thankful, so very thankful.
