EKU’s 100% online psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) program, consisting of a master’s degree and two post-MSN PMHNP certificates, was recently named the no. 1 online psychiatric nurse practitioner program in Kentucky according to EduMed.
EduMed began their ranking with accredited universities that offer at least partially online programs. After analyzing government higher education data, universities were assessed on the following criteria:
- Cost – the affordability of the degree as compared to other peer schools
- Online program availability
- Academic counseling – must offer to ensure student success
- Career placement – must offer to ensure success of graduates
- Students with institutional aid – the percentage of students who receive financial aid from the school itself
EKU’s PMHNP program is CCNE-accredited and designed to meet the requirements of the Consensus Model for APRN regulation, ensuring that our graduates are highly prepared to deliver elevated care to their patients. This is why EKU’s PMHNP program boasts a 98 percent first attempt pass rate on national certification exams.
The PMHNP program has a history of distinction at EKU, earning regional recognition by winning the UPCEA South Region Program of Excellence Award for instructional design. The program has also earned national recognition with U.S. News & World Report ranking it among the top 50 best online graduate nursing programs in the country.
