For the fifth consecutive year, U.S. News and World Report has ranked EKU’s online degree programs in nursing among the top 50 best graduate nursing degree options in the country. Eastern Kentucky University’s program outperformed all other online graduate nursing degrees in Kentucky. EKU’s nursing degrees also ranked #17 nationally among online programs for veterans, continuing EKU’s reputation as a military friendly school.
Engagement was the most significant factor in the 2020 U.S. News rankings. Top performing schools demonstrated collaboration among students and faculty, which led to higher retention rates and faster completion times, ultimately leading to high pass rates on certification exams. EKU graduates have astoundingly high first-attempt pass rates of 98 percent or better on certification exams.
The university’s unique online format provides quality instruction and personalized advising. Students have direct contact with their faculty and classmates, along with individualized support. EKU also earned high marks for faculty credentials and specialized training for distance educators.
Tiffany Stradling, of Arizona, is a student in the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program. She noted that she was impressed with the school’s reputation and affordability. Now that she’s approaching graduation, she’s thankful for the hands-on approach taken by faculty.
“The professors make a great effort to stay connected with the students, which is especially important in an online program, where we are located throughout the country,” she explained. “I have always felt comfortable emailing, calling, or video conferencing with my professors when I have questions or concerns.”
EKU nursing degrees are nationally-accredited and available 100% online with no required campus visits. Students engage directly with their professors and receive unparalleled support. Faculty and staff have been recognized for offering affordable tuition, quality programming and award-winning online course design. Online programs include the RN-BSN, the master of science in nursing, post-MSN certificates and the post-masters doctor of nursing practice (DNP).
