Tiffany Feimer is a student in Eastern Kentucky University’s online master of science in instructional design and learning technology program. She works as a Communications Content Specialist for EKU’s Training Resource Center. She recently shared her thoughts about her EKU Online experience.

How has earning this degree changed or aided your career?

As a member of the e-Learning team at the Eastern Kentucky University Training Resource Center, I am part of a team that provides numerous online trainings for Kentucky’s workforce serving children, families, and vulnerable adults. Furthering my education in online learning and the diversity of learners who encounter our programs ensures that I am fully competent in providing the best learning experience for our audience and, more importantly, the people they serve daily.

What motivated you to get this degree?

I wanted to utilize my graphic design background in a more specialized role that I felt would further my career and the goals I aim to achieve while also providing a service that would benefit others.

What was your favorite part or the highlight of your time as an EKU student?

The opportunity to achieve this degree online while working full-time and focusing on my family gave me the luxury of dedicating time to focus on myself and commit to what I set out to accomplish.

How did the EKU Online faculty aid in your success?

EKU Online staff provided terrific resources and opportunities to strengthen my capabilities with instructional design. The assignments were beneficial while giving enough challenge to ensure I am pushing myself to enhance my knowledge and skills to newer levels.

What did you find surprising about the program?

How quickly the program moves— but in a good way! The ability to earn this degree within a two-year time frame allows me to get closer to achieving my goals.

What advice would you give to someone who is looking to become an EKU Online student?

If you can commit to the work and dedicate the time, you will feel more accomplished and happier that you decided to take the time to further your education to better yourself and the career path you want to achieve.
