How has earning this degree changed or aided your career?

Working towards my degree at this time in my life has been an amazing challenge. I have learned so much about personal motivation and time management.

What motivated you to get your degree in Homeland Security?

As I begin to sunset my career as a front-line provider, I am looking to move into a more educational role, to use my knowledge and experience to teach others.

What was your favorite part or the highlight of your time as an EKU Online student?

The ability to meet so many diverse people. The ability to build a rapport with fellow students remotely proved to me that relationships are about people, not about geography.

How did the EKU Online faculty aid in your success?

Coming back to an all-online program after 20+ years proved challenging. My advisors, Lindsay Greenwell and Chris Adkins have been so incredibly supportive and provided timely responses and solid guidance to keep me focused and motivated.

What did you find surprising about the Homeland Security program?

The course content, support from professors and facilitators is excellent. The virtual lab was the biggest surprise to date. The lab was informative, interactive, and actually fun.

I would say without question EKU was the right choice for me. I would highly recommend EKU Online to students of all ages. Ask questions, reach out for help, the staff at EKU is amazing.
