CriminalJustice.com has ranked Eastern Kentucky University seventh among online bachelor’s degree programs. The site calls their list of respected criminal justice degree programs “the most rigorous of its kind.” Schools must be fully accredited and are evaluated on IPEDS data, academic standards, faculty expertise and the quality of their online learning platforms. Findings note EKU’s recognition as one of the nation’s best online programs by U.S. News & World Report, as well as its fully-online format and 8-week accelerated structure.  “This award is really a testament to our faculty and staff. They are committed to each student’s success, and I’m proud that shows,” said Victor E. Kappeler, Ph.D., associate dean and foundation professor for the college’s School of Justice Studies. The EKU College of Justice and Safety has offered online degree programs since 2006.
