EKU offers one of the nation’s top online degree programs in criminal justice according to The Community for Accredited Online Schools. The organization released a “Best Online Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice” list and placed Eastern Kentucky University at #2 of 50 schools.
“We focused specifically on colleges making a difference in the field of criminal justice,” Director of Community Engagement Robert Wilson wrote in an email to the university.
The scoring system looked at the variety of online degree programs offered, as well as graduation rates and career support services available. Cost, financial aid and loan default rates were also included. The reviewers used a peer-based-value calculation to compare the costs of programs with similar qualitative scores and tuition rates. Only accredited nonprofit or public schools were evaluated.
On the organization’s website, EKU is commended for offering both bachelor’s and master’s degree options in criminal justice-related disciplines. The university is described as a great choice for those interested in crime prevention and criminal justice research.
EKU Online offers students a B.S. in corrections and juvenile justice that includes many criminal justice courses. Graduate students can choose the M.S. in justice policy and leadership with a criminal justice core. Students benefit from:
