Study abroad with Professor Kimmel and Dr. Fairchild this winter term! CMS and healthcare majors in the Eastern Kentucky University online program have an exciting opportunity to study abroad over the winter term, and to ring in the New Year in London, England!
Dr. Jennifer Fairchild and Prof. Krista Kimmel are teaching a class abroad called “Health Care Across the Pond and Beyond.”
Course Highlights
Enhance your expertise in health care system in two of the most thrilling cities in the world: London and Dublin. With both cities as our classroom, students will gain multicultural health awareness by exploring sites such as the Florence Nightingale Museum, St. Thomas Hospital, The Royal London Hospital Museum, Trinity College Book of Kells, and Children’s Health Ireland at Krumlin. Current health care systems and settings will be compared and contrasted. Using the London and Dublin health care systems as a foundation, students are encouraged to develop a narrative for American health care in the future. This course is for the future health care professional, health care communication professional, and the health care consumer.

This class has no prerequisite requirements and is open to any e-campus student interested in studying abroad. The class is ideal for communication studies, nursing, health care administration, public health, and occupational therapy majors. But anyone is welcome to join us!
