Eastern Kentucky University will offer an online criminal justice degree, beginning in fall 2018. The bachelor’s degree program will prepare students for a range of careers in the justice and safety field. EKU’s online criminal justice degree provides students with the leadership skills and theoretical, ethical, and practical approaches needed to successfully serve and protect their communities. Graduates are prepared to take on key positions in law enforcement, courts, social service agencies and corrections, or to pursue law school or other graduate studies.

“By offering an online degree in the broader criminal justice discipline, we hope to introduce students to job opportunities they may not have thought about,” explained Dr. Vic Kappeler, dean of the EKU College of Justice and Safety. “The degree will address a need for well-educated professionals in law enforcement, corrections, the court system and social service jobs.”
